Gina Gow Ceramics
I grew up in Guyana, South America where artists had much to inspire them. The women of my family were very resourceful and artistic and my mother was an accomplished ceramicist. My own ceramic adventure started more recently and I am enjoying the process and exploration.
Creativity comes from a place of curiosity and I often start projects with the question, how can I recreate that shape, that texture or that technique? I am excited by the path from lump of clay to final form especially if it is by way of challenge and resolution, and often take clay with me on my travels.
People talk about the unpredictability of ceramics; this can be a blessing and a frustration, but whichever, I have found it is always a lesson in acceptance.
I live in Orford, East Suffolk, UK.
Events

PAST EVENT: Aldeburgh Art Trail 2026
My first time as an exhibitor was wonderfully affirming as a new ceramicist. I've learned so much about what is appealing to people but also what I enjoyed talking about and what I enjoy making.
Huge thanks to my fellow exhibitor, Alexandra Helm who generously shared her beautiful "gallery" space Seaflower and I am hoping we will return in 2027.
Now, back to work!
PAST EVENT: The Great Bluebird Pottery Charity Sale
Thanks to the generosity and hard work of over 30 artists associated with the Bluebird Pottery Shed in Sudborne Park, this incredibly successful sale raised the fabulous sum of £6,147.98 which was donated to St Elizabeth Hospice.
